Today I was inspired to revisit my friends. I don't want to say "old" friends, but some of them are very old indeed, and others are new this week. Going through the tarot decks, oracles, and oracle decks I have been collecting over the years, made me both happy and sad. This feels the same way as when I visit human friends. Happy to see them, and sad we don't get to see each other more often.
I have to say, I was as happy as a baby with a new toy. So many of these old friends were put away (in proper happy places, well wrapped and boxed) mostly because they did not resonate well with me at the time. For so many years I read with the same tool that I believe I blocked the wonderful energy that emanates from each one. Many ooohhh's and aaahhh's later, it came to me that though beautifully arranged, they were unhappy with their fate of not being used. I was then guided to organize them differently so they can be accessed more freely, and thus more frequently. I know it is a lot of work but it will be worth it! So I'm off to "Get the Show on the Road!", as my dad would say. He visits me from the Other Side with thoughts and inspiration, sometimes just a kick in the pants when I need it, which was more his old school style! If you have collections that are in disarray or have been put away, I urge you to access your inner spirit and see what can be done about them. Do you need to show them some love? Sometimes that means selling them off so somebody else can enjoy them. Sometimes it means donating to a charity. It maybe just reorganizing them so they can be admired and used in a better display. Give it some thought! I know all here will be happy once the project has been completed. Godspeed to you all. In Love and Light, KATORA To celebrate International Tarot Day this year I am doing a drawing for a free tarot reading. If you would like me to put your name in the hat, just email me at ReadingsByKatora@gmail.com before 12 PM today. This is a sample of the Celtic Cross Spread with the Mythic Tarot Deck. It is an extensive spread with ten cards, not including any clarifiers that are pulled. Working through this spread delivers quite a bit of information therefore, it is considered a long reading. I'll be posting samples of the standard reading and the quick readings that are listed in the drop down menu. I am available by appointment and via email at ReadingsByKATORA@gmail.com. Let me know when you'd like your reading.
The Summer Solstice is June 21st. It is the longest day of the year. To celebrate this event, I have created a Tarot Spread to acknowledge what we have accomplished, will accomplish and what we need to release this coming season of Summer. Here is the layout of the cards for this spread. I am available for in person and online readings.
My process during an in-person reading. Each deck is stored in a box in my reading room. The current one I am using is wrapped in a cloth or bag, and generally on my person or near me. Before beginning a reading, I light incense, candles, use crystals and put on some low meditation music in the background. I have the seeker fill a glass of water. I ground myself with the crystal ball. I shuffle the deck and hand it to the seeker to shuffle. When they are done, they hand the deck back to me. I fan the cards for them pull the cards. They hand them back to me to lay them in the spread. I feel this helps build a bridge to the larger issues and the seeker is more involved. After the reading is complete, I have them pour out the water, and I extinguish the candles. When the seeker has left the building, I sage the area in preparation for the next meeting. To recharge my decks I sleep with them under my pillow and I also lay them out in the full moon. |
