Tarot Readings

9/3/2016

My process during an in-person reading.

Each deck is stored in a box in my reading room. The current one I am using is wrapped in a cloth or bag, and generally on my person or near me.
Before beginning a reading, I light incense, candles, use crystals and put on some low meditation music in the background.
I have the seeker fill a glass of water. I ground myself with the crystal ball.  I shuffle the deck and hand it to the seeker to shuffle. When they are done, they hand the deck back to me. I fan the cards for them pull the cards. They hand them back to me to lay them in the spread. I feel this helps build a bridge to the larger issues and the seeker is more involved.
After the reading is complete, I have them pour out the water, and I extinguish the candles.  When the seeker has left the building, I sage the area in preparation for the next meeting.
To recharge my decks I sleep with them under my pillow and I also lay them out in the full moon.
